The Korean Sofa Specialist Training Institute, established by JAKOMO's predecessor, Jaekyung Furniture Industry Co., Ltd.,
was registered as a vocational training facility designated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in June 2021, and it was the first of its kind in the country.

It remains the only professional academy for sofas in Korea.

JAKOMO strives to contribute to the development of the furniture industry by nurturing sofa specialists domestically and internationally,
preserving and advancing technical know-how.

One of the various initiatives at the Korea Sofa Specialist Training Institute,
the Sofa Academy, is a regular program for nurturing young sofa artisans.

Starting with the inauguration ceremony on May 20, 2021, it trains young sofa makers with theory and practice over a six-month period,
recruiting younger candidates under the age of 35, which is in line with JAKOMO’s mid- to long-term roadmap for future growth.

Driven by the company's corporate philosophy, “The foundation of a 100-year company lies in its talent,”
the Academy continues to develop education and training programs to produce and secure outstanding sofa artisans.

Learning the entire sofa-making process, based on teachings from 1986, and the unwavering passion of Sofa Academy students have enabled them to overcome challenges, and in 2022, Sofa Academy students won the Häfele 100th Anniversary Award (Gold Award) for their collaborative work.
